Give every part of your income a job before the month starts. Fill in the six steps and your plan updates on the right as you type.
Works in any currency. Your figures stay in this browser and are never sent anywhere. No interest or investment returns are assumed.
What comes in
Monthly take-home pay, after tax and deductions. If your income changes month to month, use a cautious figure, not your best month.
What you must pay
The costs that keep the household running. Rename, delete or add lines so this matches your life.
What you give
Charity, sadaqah, your place of worship, regular help to relatives or a cause you care about. Planning it first means it isn’t left to whatever is spare at the end of the month.
Your emergency fund
Cash set aside for job loss, illness or a broken roof. The target is measured in months of essentials from step 2.
What you’re saving for
A family trip, school fees, a car paid in cash, Hajj or Umrah. Give each goal a deadline and the tool works out what to set aside each month.
What you owe
Any loans, instalments or money borrowed from family. Enter what’s left to pay and what you pay each month.
Read the thinking behind it
“Live Below Your Means” walks through spending less than you earn, building the cushion, and staying out of debt without feeling deprived.
